potatoes augratin

Ingredients
6 medium potatoes (peeled and sliced thin)1/4 cup onion, slicedsalt and pepper1/4 tsp nutmeg3 tbsp flour3 tbsp butter1 can evaporated milk1/2 cup milk8 oz sharp cheddar cheese
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease 8x8 pan. Put 1 layer sliced potatoes, cover with some onion and season with salt and pepper. Repeat until all potatoes and onions are used. In saucepan, melt butter then add flour. Cook 1 minute then slowly add evaporated milk (shake can well to mix first) and regular milk (to avoid lumps and nutmeg. Allow to bubble and then remove from heat. Stir in cheese all at once. Once cheese is melted, pour over potatoes, bake for 1 hour covered and then 10-20 minutes uncovered to brown the top.
