Beef & Mushroom Stew

Ingredients
1 lb stew beef (chuck) fat trimmed cut into 1" cubes1 large onion choppedGarlic, 3 cloves choppedMushrooms sliced 16 oz flour, 2 tbsp Salt, 1 tsp Pepper, black, 1 tsp basil dried 1 tspThyme, dried, 1 tsp Beef broth, 1 cup Red Wine, 16 fl oz 15 oz can diced tomatoespam non stick cooking spray
Directions
heat a large pot on med high add 1 spray of pam. Add meat, then add onions and garlic, stirring occasional. When meat is partially browned, add mushrooms and stir occasionally until mushrooms begin to soften. At this point add flour , salt, pepper, basil and thyme(stir these in and let it cook for a minute or so). Add the rest of the ingredients(wine, beef broth and tomatoes) . Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for about 40 minutes or until meat is tender.
****calories based on 1 cup serving (makes about 7 1 cup servings)..

****can omit wine and add extra broth but i think you should try it first with the wine..

*** I like to peel and cube potates and steam them and put this stew over them. you will be full, Nutritional value does not include the potatoes..
