My simple Clam Chowder

Ingredients
5-7 potatoes diced (i used red)1 can clams and liquer1Tbs celery seed (or 1 cup diced celery)1 Tbs better than boullion vegetable base2 tsp garlic powder2 tsp salt1 tsp pepper (more later if needed)6 cups water or until potatoes are covered and start to float.1-2 cups skim milk (or other milk/cream) once potatoes are just softseasoning to tastethicken with corn starch if desired.top with whole wheat croutons if desired.
Directions
add everything to a pot except milk. Bring to a boil then turn down to simmer and slow cook until potatoes are tender but not mushy. Add enough milk to replace evaporated water and make it your desired consistency. Add additional seasoning as needed and turn the heat up to medium to heat up the milk but not scorch it.
