My Chili-Mac

Ingredients
1 lb. lean ground beef1 cup dry macaroni 1/2 cup onion, diced1 small can diced green chilies1 can Hunts diced tomatoes, basil, garlic and oregano style8 oz. tomato sauce1 regular size packet of taco seasonings1 cup canned yellow corn, drainedsliced green onions (scallions), for garnish.5 cup shredded low-fat cheese
Directions
Cook macaroni according to the directions on the box. In a separate pan, brown the ground beef and onions. Drain off any excess fat. Add the green chilies and corn. Heat through. Add the taco seasoning mix and stir until incorporated. Add the canned tomatoes, stir well, then add the tomato sauce. Bring to a boil, the turn down temperature and simmer for about 7 minutes. Add the cooked, drained pasta and stir. Let simmer for another 5 minutes to allow pasta to absorb sauce. Serve with a tbs. of shredded cheese and garnished with sliced green onions, if desired.
