Ingredients
Directions
4 large eggs12 slices Earth Friendly Wheat Bread1 1/2 cup 1% milk1/2 teaspoon cinnamon1/2 teaspoon nutmeg1/4 cup honey1 tablespoon shortening/margarine/butter
Let bread sit out all day, or toast lightly to make it more absorbent.
Heat griddle to 350 degrees or pan to just under medium heat.
Whisk together all ingredients except shortening, making sure to incorporate honey (otherwise, it'll sink to the bottom).
Grease skillet or pan with half the shortening, so that you'll have enough for both batches. Dip bread into mixture one at a time, making sure both sides are evenly coated. Fry for 2-3 minutes on a side, until brown, flipping to turn.
