Filling: 6 c. Apples (tart are best but can use any type)3/4 c. Sugar2 Tbsp. Brown Sugar1/4- c White All-Purpose Flour1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon1/2 tsp. Ground Nutmeg1 tsp. Vanilla Extract1/4 c. hot water1-1/2 Tbsp. Unsalted ButterTopping:1 c. White All-purpose Flour1/4 c. Sugar1/4 c. Brown Sugar, packed1 tsp. Baking Powder2 Tbsp. Unsalted Butter, softened1 large egg1/2 c. Water, 1 tablespoon at a time
1. Spray 11x9 inch baking dish or a 2" to 2-1/2" deep pie dish with non-stick spray or lightly butter. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. In large bowl combine all filling ingredients gently in a tossing like motion, mix ingredients until well blended, Pour this mixture into prepared baking dish.
3. In a separate medium sized bowl mix topping ingredients with spoon until mixture is a smooth batter.
5. Drop batter on top of the filling with a spoon as evenly as possible, the batter will spread while cooking.
6. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 40 minutes.
