Vegan Mushroom Sage Gravy

Ingredients
1 cup mushrooms.5 cup vegetable oil1/3 cup chopped shallot5 cloves garlic, minced.25 cup all-purpose flour.25 cup whole-wheat flour4 tsp. nutritional yeast4 Tsp. soy sauce2 cups mushroom broth.5 tsp. dried sage.5 tsp. dried rosemary.5 tsp. salt.25 tsp. ground black pepper
Directions
1. Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
2. Saute onion, garlic, and mushrooms until soft and translucent, about 5 min.
3. Stir in flour, nutrional yeast, and soy sauce to form a smooth paste.
4. Gradually whisk in the broth.
5. Season with sage, salt, and pepper.
6. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer, stirring constantly for 8 to 10 min. or until thickened.

    I'm not sure what I did wrong but this recipe didn't turn out for me at all. Too much flour I think. It was thickened to the point of no longer being a gravy. I liked the taste, and I will try again with less flour. - 1/1/14
