Venison Chili

1 lb venison (any cut), cut into bite size pieces1 T olive oil1 T flour2-28 oz cans crushed tomatoes (w/o added oil)2 bell peppers, diced (add jalapeno to taste)1 large white onion, diced2-15 oz cans dark red kidney beans, with liquid2 T chili powder1 t ground thyme1 whole bay leaf2 t ground black pepper1 t ground cumin
Heat the olive oil in a skillet. Dust the meat with flour, and brown in the olive oil on all sides. Add the meat and all the other ingredients to the crock pot and stir to combine. Cook on high for 4 hours, or longer.
