2 cup water2 Tbsp onion flakes1 Tbsp garlic powder2 cubes chicken bouillon1 tsp crushed red pepper1 tsp ground oregano*1 tsp ground thyme*1 tsp dried parsley*1/2 cup dried lentils, sorted and rinsed1/2 cup uncooked brown rice*1 Tbsp of Italian herb seasoning mix can be used instead of the oregano, thyme, and parsley
In 2 quart saucepan, add seasonings, bouillon and water. Bring to a boil and stir until bouillon cubes are dissolved.
Stir in lentils and rice. Bring back to boiling then reduce heat. Cover and simmer about 50 minutes, adding more water if needed, until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
Serving Size: Makes 4 one-cup servings
