1 pound ground beef, 85% leanOnions, raw, 1 large, chopped2 medium potatoes, choppedGarlic, cloves, minced/smashedPeas, frozen, 10 oz.2 lg. tomatoes, diced, or 1 can diced tomatoes2 slices Ginger Root, minced/smashed4 Tbsp. Oil (adjust according to your cookware)1/4 tsp. cumin seeds1 tsp. corianderSalt, 1 tsp 6 black peppercorns6 whole cloves or 1/4 tsp. ground cloves1 cardamom pod or 1/4 tsp. ground cardamom1/4 tsp. cayenne1/4 tsp. turmeric (can subsitute curry powder)
In a large pan with oil, cook onions until soft, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and ginger and cook 1 more minute. Add ground beef and spices and cook, breaking it up into small bits as you go. Drain if wet and add tomatoes, potatoes and peas. Cover and simmer on medium low for 10-15 minutes or until the peas are hot.
