I make this meatloaf all the time but I use about 1/2 a med . onion instead of the onion soup . and I use 2 eggs and milk skim as needed but other wise is the same . I often use barbeque sause in place of catsup also. My family loves it. - 3/14/09

My meat loaf came out a little soupy -- but I only had 1 lb beef, not 1-1/2. Next time I'm going to try adding everything but the milk together, then adding only enough milk to moisten. - 2/12/09

If you are reducing the meat, you do need to reduce the milk and ketchup to compensate.

Loved this recipe, made it tonight for dinner and uit was good. I tried something new and put ketchup and brown sugar on top of meat loaf for 5 minutes leave in oven..Just to give it a sweet and sour taste. - 1/8/12

This recipe was good but it isn't my favorite. I think I like it a lot better with the italian break crumbs. Thanks! - 10/25/11

this is almost like the one we use most of the time, though at times we also add grapenuts along with the oats....makes it a little crunchier. also add bell pepper and chopped onions along with the onion soup. - 7/18/10

I love this recipe. Sometimes for a little something different I add shredded carrots to it as this is an easy way to get a vegie into my meal. Thanks for sharing such a good recipe. - 4/16/10

I trade out the soup mix and replace it with one medium onion that I have tossed in the blender with the egg and milk. Seriously reduces the sodium of this dish. Great meatloaf recipe! - 2/21/10

I never put milk in the meatloaf, bleh! If you blend the catsup and egg with the oatmeal you don't need any milk. Try a variation by adding mustard with the catsup you get a meatloaf that tastes just like a regular hamburger!! that's awesome right next to the Lipton Onion Soup Mix. - 5/5/09

I made this for myself and my kids, and my kids both had seconds and thirds! I have never tried it with oats before, I really like the texture it gave. Thank you :) - 2/9/09
