Homemade pizza

2 1/2 tsp dry yeast1 3/4 cup flour1/4 tsp sugar3/4 cup 110°F water1 tsp salt1/4 cup tomato sauce with herbs1 cup mushrooms1/2 cup chopped onions1/4 cup chopped green peppers24 slices pepperoni8 oz mozzarella cheese
Heat oven to 500°F with a pizza stone inside.
Crust:
Dissolve yeast and sugar in water; allow to rest for 8 minutes. In a separate bowl, combine flour and salt.
While dough is resting, chop or dice the vegetables and slice the mozzarella cheese.
Pour yeast mixture over flour mixture and mix well with a heavy spoon. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for 2 minutes. Working from the edges to the center, press or roll dough into a 12" circle. Place dough on a lightly floured counter and stretch dough to edges.
Spread sauce over crust and top with cheese and desired toppings.
Bake in a 500 degree oven for 8-12 minutes, or until edges are golden.
