Spagetti with Clam Sauce

Ingredients
Directions
1 can diced tomatoes1 10 oz can baby clams (drained with juice reserved)1/4 cup onion chopped fine3 cloves fresh garlic chopped fine/minced/crushed2 tbs fresh basil2 cups wheat spaghetti cooked1/2 cup dry white cooking wine
Boil spaghetti, drain, set aside
In saucepan spray with nonstick cooking spray and a tbs of water or add a bit of olive oil
add onions and sautee for a few minutes
add garlic and sautee for one minute
add tomatoes, clam juice, wine, salt and pepper to taste
bring to boil then simmer uncovered for 5 minutes
add clams and fresh basil and heat till warm
spoon mixture over pasta and serve warm
can be sprinkled with Romano cheese or Parmesan if desired
