Ingredients
Date filling:1 cup pitted dates, chopped1 cup water0.5 cup sugar1 tsp vanilla extract1 tsp lemon juiceBiscuit1 cup flour1.5 cup rolled oats0.66 cup sugar0.5 cup wheat bran0.5 tsp baking powder0.5 tsp baking soda0.25 tsp nutneg0.25 tsp cinnamon0.5 cup applesauce0.5 cup margarine
Directions
-Combine date filling ingredients in saucepan and bring to boil. Simmer for 15 minutes until liquid is absorbed.

-Preheat oven to 350F/Gas Mark 4/180C.

-Combine dry ingredients in a bowl. Add margarine and apple sauce.

-Spread half oat mixture into a baking tray. Layer dates over and pat remaining oats over the dates.

-Bake for 20-25 mins.
