Shrimp Diablo

Ingredients
1 c half & half fat free3/4 c chicken broth1/4 c white wine1/4 c tomato paste3/4 c shredded parmesan cheese2 T butter, cut into pieces1 T chopped garlic1 tsp dried basil1/2 tsp black pepper1/4 to 3/4 tsp red pepper flakes1 1/4 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined12 oz spaghetti or linguine
Directions
Prepare pasta according to the package directions.

In a bowl, stir half-and-half, chicken broth, wine, and tomato paste until smooth; transfer to a large non-stick skillet. Stir in cheese, butter, garlic, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Bring to simmer over med-low heat. Cook for about 5 mins, until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally. Add shrimp to the sauce mixture. Simmer an additional 10 to 15 minutes until shrimp is cooked through and the sauce is the desired consistency.

Drain pasta, toss with sauce. Serve with additional parmesan cheese if desired.
