4 cups canned pinto beans rinsed and drained3 tablespoons butter1 cup chopped onion5 teaspoons minced garlic2.5 teaspoons ground cumin2 teaspoons sea salt.5 teaspoons chili powder.5 teaspoons ground black pepperwater or broth as needed
sautee onion in butter until soft. Add garlic and cook 1-2 more minutes. Add beans and a little liquid if needed. Stir in seasonings and simmer 20 minutes. Add more liquid if needed and mash until desired consistency. Serve with Mexican dishes. Great as a side with shredded cheese.
Serving Size: Makes any size serving you want, although I consider about .5 cup a serving.
