I love this recipe. I substituted plain, non fat yogurt for the mayo and added lemon juice. - 9/21/09

This is one of my favorites. I use vanilla yogurt and raisins. Never tried carrots but I will next time. - 9/21/09

This is delicious. Combination of fruits and vegetables must make it nutritious. The small amount this salad is nice, the more I make, the more I eat! - 7/12/07

Make it lighter and lower in fat by mixing milk into the mayo (approx 1/4 milk to 3/4 mayo). Never use carrots. Add cooked chicken - veg fruit protien + bread - complete meal.
Last night I entertained my family for my brother's 60th birthday - I served Waldorf Salad - one of my favorites! - 9/21/09

I want to like Waldorf Salad. The ingredients are fantastic but something about the mayo always turns my stomach, thanks to the suggestion of yogurt, I'll try this in the future. - 9/21/09

I am going to make this for my friend. She is on a low fat diet and getting very fed up of the way she has to eat. She wil love me for it, I will make it with vanilla yogurt. Thanks. Vi - 9/21/09

I made this tonight - will try the yoghurt version sometime when I have that on hand. I just ran the carrot, apple and celery through my slicer and then added the nuts and mayo. So mine has a little more crunch. You could serve this on a lettuce leaf! - 11/30/09

This was great! I used Annie's Orange Sesame Marinade instead of the mayo, and it was healthy, delish, and vegan! - 11/27/09

Quite surprised at the sodium count! Celery does contain natural sodium, but has properties in it that make it very good for you, especially if you have hypertension. - 9/21/09

Sounds good but where does all the sodium come from? - 9/21/09
  • SOUTHERNMEL
If you use plain, non-fat yougurt, you cut out a lot of the sodium (about 21 mg). The mayo contributes 220 mg of sodium to the total! - 8/10/10

I also make this with sugar free cherry jello. Let jello set until it gets thickish & add apple, celery & walnuts.(not carrots) - 7/27/10

Try it with Greek Yogurt - 1/25/10

I added to it pepper, a dash of salt and a bit of lemon. During holiday season leftovers of chicken or turkey matches it well. - 11/29/09
