Tuna with savory balsamic sauce

1 1/2 tblsps canola oil4 (8 oz) tuna steaks, about 3/4" thick, rinsed and patted dry1/2 tsp salt1/4 tsp pepper1/4 cup balsamic vinegar1 tblsp unsalted butter2 tblsps capers, lightly crushed
1. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over high heat until it shimmers. Season fish with salt and pepper. Cook fish until browned, about 5 minutes; turn and cook until just barely opaque, 3-4 minutes longer. Transfer to a platter and cover loosely with foil to keep warm.
2. Add vinegar to pan and boil until reduced be about half, about 1 minute. Whisk in butter until melted; add capers. Pour over fish and serve.
