Ingredients
1# lean ground beef2 lg cans peeled Italian style plum tomatoes (juice and all)1 C beef broth1 C dry red wine1/12 yellow onion chopped1/4 cup grated carrot2 cups fresh sliced mushrooms2 Tbl flour1 Tbl olive oil
Directions
toss the beef w/ flour then brown in olive oil. add onion and carrot sautee until soft. add wine and simmer for 3 min. add remaining ingredients (crush the tomatoes up with your hands as you add them) and simmer for 1 hr. serve as a soup or over spiral or med shell pasta to "hold" the sauce. sprinkle w/ parm cheese if desired/allowed.
