Gelatin-free strawberry pie filling

Ingredients
1 cup fresh strawberries, cored, halved, then crushed1/2 cup sugar1 cup water2 Tbsp corn starch or arrowroot
Directions
In a small saucepan, crush berries and add sugar, cooking over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. In a measuring cup, combine cornstarch and warm water, mixing until well blended. Add cornstarch and water mixture to berries and sugar and continue to heat over medium to medium high, stirring constantly, for 3-5 minutes, or until thick.

Serving Size: Makes enough for 1 pie, divided into 8 servings
