Kalajosh-Armenian Braised Lamb with Yogurt Sauce

Ingredients
3 lbs lamb2 1/2 cups chopped onionsalt, pepper to taste4 cups beef broth or water1 quart yogurt1 egg1/2 cup water
Directions
Saute lamb in a little fat, then add 1/2 cup water. Cook over low heat until water evaporates (approx 1 hour) Add onions and broth-enough liquid to almost cover meat mixture. Simmer until onions are cooked. Keep warm until yogurt sauce is warm
Yogurt Sauce-Mix yogurt, egg and water in a saucepan and beat for 2-3 minutes, bring to a slow boil stirring constantly. Remove from heat
