Red Lentil Soup with Mixed Greens

Ingredients
1 cup red lentils4 cups water1 cup chopped carrots2 cups chopped salad/vegetable greens 1 tsp cumin seed0.5 tsp cinnamon1 tsp black pepper1 tsp salt
Directions
Wash the lentils well, removing any stones or debris. Add the 4 cups of water and bring to a boil. Reduce to simmer and simmer for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, chop the carrots and greens into bite-size pieces.

After the lentils have simmered for 15 minutes, add the remaining ingredients and simmer for another 30 minutes. Serve.
