Ingredients
Egg, fresh, 2 medium *Kraft 2% Shredded Cheddar Cheese, 1/4 cup *Canadian Bacon, 1 serving choppedOnions, raw, 1 tbsp chopped Green Peppers1 tbsp
Directions
Have guests write their name on a quart-size Ziploc freezer bag with permanent marker.

Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (not more than 2) shake to combine them.

Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, hash browns, salsa, etc.

Each guest adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag and shake. Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up.

Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes. You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. For more, make another pot of boiling water.

Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily. Be prepared for everyone to be amazed.

Nice to serve with fresh fruit and coffee cake; everyone gets involved in the process and a great conversation piece.
Imagine having these ready the night before, and putting the bag in boiling water while you get ready. And in 13 minutes, you got a nice omlette for a quick breakfast!!!
**To lower fat and calories this can be made with egg beaters.

Nice, and no added fat as you don't need the butter or margarine to cook the omelet in...Kudos! - 4/10/08

This is a household favorite. Sometimes referred to as "leftover omelets" because we use whatever leftovers we can find in the fridge - last weeks peppers, yesterday's bacon. Also good the last day of a camping trip. First had them at Scout camp, loved them ever since. - 1/14/09

We've been making these for years at all of our campouts and love them. It's always amazed me how the egg cooks perfectly around the filling. Yummy! One thing we do is use a permanent marker to write our names on the bags since we have a large camping pot and cook up to 8 at a time! - 4/8/08

Ziploc's website has omelet recipes but they use the "ZiplocŪ brand Zip 'n SteamŪ Microwave Cooking Bags" but they are for microwave use only and cannot be used on the stove. - 1/17/14

Not so good. Ziploc's site says "Can I boil in ZiplocŪ brand Bags?
No. ZiplocŪ brand Bags are not designed to withstand the extreme heat of boiling." http://www.ziploc.com/Pages/Bags.aspx - 7/20/13

Really bad idea to cook ANYTHING in plastic. You could call it the Cancer omelet. - 7/19/13

My extended family did this last Christmas morning. Everyone was given a bag with their name on it. There were bowls with all sorts of ingredients to select from to personalize each omelet. We then threw them in a big pot of boiling water & 10 minutes later we enjoyed sitting down all at once. Yum! - 7/19/13
