Tom's pinto beans

Soak pinto beans overnight in 1/2 t soda. The next day, drain and rinse beans, boil 1.5 hours with salt, oil, and water.
Then, bake 2 hours with bacon, onion, garlic powder, pepper, molasses, worcestshire sauce, catsup, brown sugar, and dry mustard. Towards the end of baking, add 1.5 t. of cornstarch (dissolve in small amount of water before adding to beans.)
