Ingredients
2 large rutabagas1 stick unsalted butter1 tbsp nutmeg1tsp ground ginger1 tsp brown sugar to taste
Directions
Peel & dice rutabaga. Place in 3 quart saucepan with enough water to cover. Boil 15-20 minutes or until soft enough to mash. Drain, add other ingredients. Mash with potato masher until smooth. Adjust seasoning. Serve hot. Portion size 1 cup.

    I use to think rutabaga were pretty flavorless, but the nutmeg is just what they needed to bring them to life. I will be seeing what I can do to reduce the butter in this recipe though. - 11/3/09

    This was delicious! I put green onions in with the other ingredients, and I think it added to the flavor. Great recipe! - 6/26/14
