Date & Nut Loaf

Ingredients
1 tsp baking soda 1 egg1cup boiling water 1 1/2 cups flour1 cup chopped dates 1 /8 tsp salt3 tbsp margerine 1/3 cup chop nuts1 cup brown sugar 1 tsp vanilla
Directions
In a small bowl mix the baking soda with the boiling water. Add the dates. Cool.

Cream the margarine and add the brown sugar. Beat in the egg. Add flour, salt and nuts. Add the cooled dates and vanilla.

Pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour.
