Italian Sauce

Ingredients
3 links Jennie-O Italian Sweet Turkey Sausage2 tsp extra virgin olive oil 1 cup chopped onions2 cloves minced garlic 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms 1 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes with oregano and basil 1 tbsp fresh basil, choppedSalt and pepper to taste
Directions
1. Pinch sausage out of casings to make mini-meatballs. Saute until no longer pink.
2. Add olive oil and onions and saute until onions are slightly brown. Add mushrooms and garlic and cook for about 2 more minutes.
3. Use a paper towel to remove excess grease and moisture from the mixture, then add crushed tomatoes and basil. Salt and pepper to taste.
4. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Serve over pasta, spaghetti squash, or spiral sliced zucchini. Top with shaved or shredded Parmesan cheese as desired.
