German crumble cake

Ingredients
1.75 c flour.75 c sugar125gm butter or margarine1 egg3 tbsp sugarfree jam or fruits1 dash salt
Directions
combine flour, egg, salt, sugar and margarine in a bowl until it is nice & crumbly, Pour 2/3 in a greased round 9 inch cakeform.
Spread jam or fruits on top and top with remaining crumbles.
bake at 180'C for 40 minutes. Until brown on top, ensure the jam does not burn.
Cool on a rack
cut into 8 servings and

    I haven't seen it made this way. It sounds more like an apple crisp. The crumble cake I'm familiar with is a cake with the crumbs on top with or without fruit in between. - 8/5/11
