Quick Homemade Hummus
- Minutes to Prepare:
- Number of Servings: 5
Ingredients
Directions
1 can (1.75 cup) chickpeas (drain but save a little bit of the liquid)1 clove garlic (you can add more if you'd like)1.5 tbsp olive oil0.25 cup lemon juice1 tbsp tahini1 tsp paprika0.5 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
I usually throw all the ingredients into a tall, narrow plastic container (like a used 16 oz yogurt container) and then blend with a hand blender/immersion blender. I don't have a food processor but I think you could use one and get the same results.
You can also try adding different flavors like roasted red peppers or roasted garlic to the hummus but if you do, I would completely drain the liquid from the chickpeas so it's not too soupy and wet.
