Red Bean Soup with Ground Turkey

Ingredients
1 lb. red beans1 lb. ground turkey1 1/2 cup chopped celery2 T. dehydrated onion flakes1/2 teaspoon red pepper3 cloves garlic1 t. salt3 c. chicken broth5 cups water
Directions
In a large pan, brown the turkey in one cup of chicken broth. Mix in other ingredients and simmer covered until the beans are tender, stiring every twenty minutes and adding more liquid if necessary to keep the soup at the consistancy you desire. Serve over cooked rice.

    Looks good, but awfully high in sodium. Will have to see if just replacing the chicken broth with sodium free broth will make a big enough difference in the sodium content. - 4/13/17

    Going to try this one with my homemade turkey bone broth. That's pretty rich in protein, all by its self, and doesn't add sodium. - 12/3/17

    Had to adjust sodium count by using a low sodium broth so not sure if taste was same as high salt. However, will not make it with higher version for it will be uneatable for me. - 8/7/17
