Turkey Sloppy Joes

Ingredients
1 lb. ground turkey1/2 c. chopped onion1/2 c. chopped green pepper8 oz. can of tomatoes sauce2 Tb. quick oats1-1 1/2 tsp. chili powder1-2 tsp. worcestershire sauce1clove of garlic1/4 c. watersalt & pepper to taste
Directions
In a large skillet cook meat, onion, green pepper and garlic till meat is brown. Stir in tomato sauce, oats, chili powder, worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper and 1/4 c. water. Bring to boiling: reduce heat. Simmer for 5-10 min. or till mixture is of desired consistency. Serve in hamburger buns.

    We really liked it. We had ours on Oroweat Sandwich Thins and the kids had theirs on regular buns. I made it according to the heavier end of the seasoning range and it was good. - 7/22/09

    I made this last night, and the way the recipe is stated, the final product is a little bland. I add more chili powder, extra worchestshire sauce and some Old Bay seasoning. It does up the sodium content but the taste was better. I will probably make this again. - 9/30/08
