Spanish Spirals

Ingredients
1 pound lean ground turkey1 medium onion, chopped1 - 28 oz can diced tomatoes2 cups uncooked whole wheat (rotini) pasta2 tsp. salt1 tsp. sugar1 tsp. chili powder1/2 tsp. garlic powder
Directions
1. Cook beef in skillet til no longer pink
2. Drain fat if necessary
3. Add onions and cook until onions are tender
4. Add other ingredients and bring to boil
5. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 25-30 minutes untill pasta is tender

    Using lean ground turkey and whole wheat pasta will reduce the calories in this dish to 296 and fat to just 6 grams instead of 17. - 9/13/08

    I only get 396 calories. What did I do wrong? On the calculation end I put 16 oz (2 cups) whole wheat pasta. Thanks for your tip, Wilma
    PS I will also check my other recipes.
