Whole wheat buttermilk apple scones

Ingredients
1cup +2Tbsp flour1cup whole wheat flour1/4cup sugar1tsp cinnamon1/4 tsp allspice1/2tsp salt1/4cup lite butter1/2cup low fat buttermilk1cup grated apple1Tbsp 1%milk2tsp sugar
Directions
Mix dry ingredients the cut in butter. Add buttermilk and grated apples. Mix, I found that mixing with my hands is best. Pat to 1" flat and cut into 8 rounds. Bake 14 to 16 minutes in 425degree oven until golden and toothpick comes out clean. Cool well before storing.

    I just made these.. I added 1/2 tsp baking powder to help them rise.. they were very yummy, but like another reviewer stated on original recipe, middles seemed sligthy undercooked whrn outsides were perfect..not sure how to fix that. maybe its my oven temp? great though! - 2/26/10
