Not Fried Rice

Ingredients
2 tsp sesame oil¾ cup chopped green onions½ cup chopped red bell pepper2 cloves of garlic, minced2 cups water1 cup uncooked instant brown rice2 egg whites1 Tbsp reduced sodium soy sauce(Kikkoman was used)2 tsp sugar
Directions
Heat oil in nonstick skillet over medium high heat until hot. Add onions, bell pepper and garlic; cook and stir 1 minute. Add water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; stir in rice and egg whites,. Simmer 10 minutes or until rice is tender, stirring frequently. Stir in soy sauce and sugar. Cook 3 -5 minutes more until sugar caramelizes.
