(16)
  • Number of Servings: 1
Ingredients
1 Pound GROUND TURKEY 1/3 Cup hoisin sauce 1/2 Cup commercial barbecue sauce 1 Tablespoon fresh gingerroot, peeled and grated 1 Clove garlic, minced 1/4 Cup pine nuts, toasted 1/4 Cup diced scallions 2 Tablespoons crystallized ginger, finely minced 10 Large iceberg lettuce leaves, washed, dried and well chilled
Directions
1. Over medium heat, crumble turkey into a wok or large skillet and sauté, stirring to break up any clumps. Cook until lightly browned.

2. Stir in hoisin and barbecue sauces, ginger root and garlic. Cook until hot and well blended.
Mix in pine nuts, scallions and crystallized ginger, tossing gently just long enough to heat through and blend well.

3. To serve, spoon the hot turkey mixture into each lettuce leaf cup and roll tightly to enclose the turkey mixture.

Note: This is a delightful casual party food. Your guests will enjoy rolling their own appetizers.

Makes 10 servings (1 wrap containing approx. 1oz cooked turkey.)

AWESOME!!!!! This is so yummo! Wouldn't change a thing. Don't know how this could be greasy as ground turkey has very little fat. Will try shredding some turkey breast and adding it instead of ground. - 8/19/10

I'm going to try this but instead of pine nuts which have a lot of calories and fat I am going to use chopped water chestnuts which will add a crunchy texture and lower the calories. Im sure I'll love it since I eat thai lettuce wraps in restaurants and love those!!! - 9/21/10

Delicious! Lettuce is a great way to lower the calories & carbs of this and similar dishes; I'll apply the concept to other food combos. - 9/21/10
