Sandy's Whole Wheat Honey Oat Bread

Ingredients
1/3 cup shortening1 cup hot water3/4 cup packed brown sugar3 pkg yeast4 cups 110 degree water1/4 honey4 tbsp sugar (or splenda)3 tsp salt1/2 cup wheat bran1 cup oats4 1/2 cups unbleached flour6 cups whole wheat flour
Directions
Dissolve brown sugar in 1 cup HOT water.
Add shortening, and honey. Set aside to melt.
In a large bowl dissolve yeast, in 4 cups of warm water. Add white sugar or (splenda), salt, & flour.
Beat well, add in brown sugar mixture.
Stir in enough whole wheat flour to make dough elastic and smooth, but not dry.
turn onto a lightly floured surface, and knead, about 5 minutes.
Oil large bowl, and put dough n turning once.
Cover with wax paper, and a towel, and put in warm oven, not hot. for 1 hour or until doubled in bulk.
Remove from bowl, and make into 5 regular loaves. Or 2 extra large loaves, with the remaining dough you can make 10 pretzels or a large pizza pie.
Bake bread for 35-40 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Bake pizza until cheese is melted, and bake pretzels, until golden. Enjoy
