Pork Chops with Ginger maple Sauce

Ingredients
Onions, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia) *Canola Oil, 4 1tsp Ginger Root, 2 tsp Chili powder, 1 tsp Salt, .50 tsp Pepper, black, .50 tsp Cinnamon, ground, .50 tsp Soup, chicken broth, canned, less/reduced sodium, .50 cupMaple Syrup, .25 cup*Brown Rice, long grain, 2 cup*Pork, fresh, loin, center rib (chops), boneless, separable lean only, cooked, braised, 16 oz
Directions
In a small skillet over medium heat cook onion in 2 teaspoons oil unti golden brown and very tender, about 10 minutes. Add ginger; cook and stir 2 minutes longer.

meanwhile, combine chii powder, salt, pepepr, and cinnamon, rub over both sides of pork chops. In a large skillet over medium heat brown chops in remaining oil for 2-3 minutes each side.

Add the broth, syrup, and onion mixture. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 8-10 minutes or until meat is tender. Remove chops and keep warm. Bring broth mixture to a boil; cook, uncovered, until liquid is thickened and reduced to 1/2 cup.

Serve Chops overrice with sauce.

one serving = 4ounce chop over 1/2 cup cooked rice with 2 tablespoons of sauce.
