Ingredients
Egg, fresh, 2 medium Granulated Sugar, 1 cup *Flour, white, 1 cup Baking Powder, 2 tsp Salt, .5 tsp Apples, fresh tart, 2 cup, peeled & finely chopped Walnuts, .75 cup, chopped
Directions
In a large bowl, beat the eggs until thick and lemon coloured. Add the sugar slowly and continue beating until well combined.

In a small bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together. Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and beat well. Add the apples and nuts, stirring until all ingredients are completely mixed.

Pour the batter into 2 well-greased 9-inch pie plates or a well greased 13 X 9- inch baking dish. Bake at 350F/Gas mark 4 for 25 to 30 minutes. (This pie makes its own crust top and bottom). Serve with whipped cream.

Serves 12.

Note: I have been experimenting with the amount of sugar in this recipe and have reduced it from 1.5 cups to 1 cup without detracting from the overall taste. Once could also add ground cinnamon or other spices that go well with apples if desired.

Great! I made a couple of changes though. I used Splenda instead of sugar. It cut the calories down to 133 each. I also made it into 12 muffins instead of a cake (portion control for me.) Next time I'd use half the salt. They are really good and moist. - 11/5/08

This was wonderfully Delicious! I will admit to doubling the recipe and making it in a brownie pan, adding a pinch of cinnamon and some raisons on top. I didn't tell the family this was low fat until they told me how much they liked it. They all said they want to diet too if it is always this good! - 2/27/09

This is a wonderful dessert!!! I have made this three times already and am about to make it again. I doubled the recipe, threw in a few handfuls of raisins and baked it in a 10 X 15 brownie pan. - 10/29/08

I left out the walnuts (I didn't have any on hand), but this was delicious! I will definitely make it again-my family loved it! But it is definitely more a cake than a pie. Easy to make, though! - 10/15/08

I love this concept of adding walnuts. I make mine that way and also add raisins. Its awesome, and with an Old English heritage on my Mom's side that is what the English do(as I am told by my Mom, when I discovered this combo, I'm sure others have gone ahead of me :D and found it as in tradition..) - 3/8/13

It was delicious! My kids loved it. I cut sugar to 3/4 C. And added vanilla, and pumpkin pie spice (cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice) and omitted the nuts. I will make this one again! - 9/26/12

I used Splenda Brown sugar blend for half the sugar and Splenda/white sugar for the rest, added a little cinnamon and made them into muffins. They are really good! I also used one egg and egg white to save a little on cholesterol. - 9/23/10

I don't know if I did something wrong but the batter was thick and not pourable. I ended up having to double the batter so there was enough for the amount of nuts and apples to blend with. It was okay but I was disappointed in the consistency. - 8/26/10

I find you need to be careful which apple you use in this. Granny Smiths seem to be the best. Lot of the others are too sweet. - 6/25/18

I made this using raw sugar and cut the sugar to 3/4 cup. I also used almonds instead of walnuts as walnuts don't agree with me. I also added one tablespoon of homemade apple butter for extra moisture and taste. This came out excellent and could be eaten without adding anything else. - 9/29/13
