The coffee in these was much too strong, even for the coffee lovers. They didn't end up fudgey, more dry, like cake. I iced them with melted chocolate, milk and icing sugar to make them edible. I like the idea, but I'm going to need to tweak it a lot ot make it work. - 10/30/08

These were very good, although I'm not sure I'd call them fudgy. I drained and rinsed my beans, which perhaps was the reason they weren't as fudgy. I used extra cocoa rather than coffee as I'm not a coffee fan. Will definitely make again!! (Reminded me of the flavor of no-bake cookies.) - 10/26/08

I also use pureed beans to replace all or half the oil in cakes and brownies. You puree the beans with the liquid in the can. (Otherwise the recipe would tell you to drain the beans) Cakes turn out better than brownies when you replace all of the oil with beans puree. - 10/30/09

Pretty good! A little too much coffee for my taste, so I'll go lighter on that next time...also added just a little honey to make them sweeter. Warm, with a nice cup of milk they are heavenly! - 10/25/08

The brownies are good! I substituted the plain yogurt for a raspberry. I put about 1 tablespoon of dark chocolate syrup as well as upped the cocoa a tad, and it's fudgy for sure. Don't drain the beans, leave some H20 a top the beans. Slight aftertaste but not bad. Cals upped by 45 due to syrup.

I drained and rinsed and then added 1T water. Moist, but dense if that makes sense. I used 1T instant decaf and that was plenty strong. I should have mixed the chips in the blender as well because the sweetness was lacking in the non chip bites. Better when stored in the fridge. Needs tweaking. - 11/19/08

I used vanilla yogurt, a 9X9 pan, and it looks, smells very good. not sweet - 10/29/10

These were okay...I had to add more sugar because I found it the taste to be off a little. I also used organic quick oats instead of instant oatmeal. No one could tell that there were oats and beans in it! Sneaky way to be healthy!

I would probably ice them the next time I make them. - 10/22/08

Wow I am gluten intolerant and I can't wait to try these. Sound great and not too bad nutritionally. - 10/29/10

Wow! A fairly large sized brownie with only 2 WW points! Gotta try them tomorrow since I was going to make a brownie mix to pass out to trick or treaters (we don't get very many). Now I won't be tempted to eat those! - 10/30/09

These were ok. I have 6 children and I got one "ooo good".. the rest made the comment that they were ok, but not as good as others I have made. I followed the recipe except for the amt of coffee. I will not be making these again. - 3/22/12

Thankyou for sharing this recipe. Years ago, I had a chocolate cake recipe from El Paseo company. They were bought out, and I lost the recipe. This sounds similar, so I'll give it a try. So much healthier than most brownies. - 10/31/11

I don't like spice in brownies, so I used about 2/3 tsp lemon extract along with the vanilla instead of pumpkin spice. I cooked these about 30 minutes the put the choc chips on top of the hot, cooked brownies. I didn't drain the beans, and used non-gluten oats. 9" x 13" pan for thin, fudginess. - 2/14/11

I'm definately going to try this. I have a bunch of College kids coming home for Halloween. What a blast to tell them AFTER they eat them that they are healthy with beans even. I'll let you know how it turns out. - 10/30/08

If anyone has made them, please let me know. I'm interested in how they turn out. I need a recipe to bring to a Halloween party and don't want to bring something that looks overtly healthy. ;-) - 10/23/08

Sounds interesting, but I'm curious - do you DRAIN the can of black beans or not??? Normally I would, but it doesn't say. Anyone hazard a guess - I'm dying to try them! - 10/23/08

Oh Wow! I AM going to try this! This is the first brownie recipe I've seen that looks like 'cheating' won't hurt me. I will come back after I make this and let you all know. Can't wait! - 10/22/08
