Semi Raw Apple Hors d' Oeurves

Ingredients
1 large or 2 medium tart apples (Granny Smiths work fine)1 thb butter toffee almond accent slices (the sweetness makes a nice contrast)A sprinkle of lemon pepper seasoning.
Directions
Chop up apples (no need to be neat about it or to peel them) and place on a microwave safe place. Sprinkle with almond slices and lemon pepper.

Microwave for just 30 seconds.

The heat sweetens and slightly softens the apples, and the flavors of tiny amounts of almond and low sodium lemon pepper seasoning are really interesting together.

Serve with hot or iced tea (no sweetener) for a lovely balance of sweet/salt/tart/bitter elements...

    This sounds interesting. I'm going to have to try it. I'm uneasy about the lemon pepper because that's when I use to season fish...lol. - 10/28/08

    This is wonderful, however I am allergic to pepper, so I've used cinnamon in place of the lemon pepper. I do squeeze a few drops of lemon on them, before adding the cinnamon. It gives them a little sweet & sour. Thank you and GOD bless! - 10/27/08
