Linda's Texas Chili

Ingredients
1 lb. ground sirloin - lean1 med. onion finely chopped1 green bell pepper chopped1 tsp. salt1/4 tsp. pepper1-14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes w/basil, garlic, oregano2 tbsp. chili powder1/2 tsp. garlic powder2 tbsp. Chappel Hill Pinto Bean Seasoning(www.chsausage.com)1/2 tsp. cumin powder3 oz. tomato paste1-14 oz. can low sodium beef broth1/2 c. water1 tbsp. brown sugar1-15.5 oz. can chili beans
Directions
In large stew pot, saute ground sirloin, onions, bell pepper, salt & pepper until meat is thoroughly cooked. Next add chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, pinto bean seasoning, diced tomatoes, & tomato paste then cook until well blended. (Usually about 5-7 minutes.) Then add beef broth, water, brown sugar, and chili beans. Continue cooking for 5-7 mins. Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes stirring every 5-7 mins.

Serve hot! You can eat this plain or served over brown rice for added fiber and fullness.
