Sweet Potato Pone'

5 Sweet potatoes, peeled1 large egg4 fl oz. Half and Half Cream½ tsp. Allspice1 tsp. Cinnamon, ground,¼ tsp. Nutmeg, ground1/8 tsp. Cloves, ground¼ cup Brown Sugar, packed1 large orange, juiced1 cup Pecans, chopped½ cup Coconut, unsweetened, shredded¼ cup Wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched1 tsp. Vanilla Extract4 Tbs. Butter, unsalted1 tsp. grated orange zest (do not include the white pith, which is bitter)
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Cook or steam the potatoes until tender. Mash the potatoes, and then stir in melted butter. In a bowl, beat the eggs, then add brown sugar and beat thoroughly. Stir into mashed sweet potatoes, and then add cream, vanilla, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, coconut, flour and juice from an orange and orange zest and mix until well blended. Place the mixture into a 91/2 x 13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle the top of the pone with chopped pecans. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes; uncover, then bake for 10 minutes.
