Ingredients
Bacon, 2 medium slices, cooked crisp, remove1/2 Onions, raw, chopped1/2 cup Carrots chopped 1/2 cup Celery, raw, .5 cup, diced dash garlic powder1 tsp. Thyme, ground1 can Blackeye Peas2 cups Swanson Chicken Broth 99% Fat Free1 tbsp. Barbecue Sauce
Directions
Cook the bacon crisp and reserve. Saute onion, carrots and celery until soft. Add chicken broth, garlic powder and barbecue Sauce and simmer 30 minutes. Serve with cornbread.

    On first glance at this recipe, my mind went, "Huh"? I re-read the recipe & figured what was meant. It looked a little "watery" in my mind, so I added a 2nd, drained can of Black-Eyed Peas with Jalapenos, which gave it a teeny bite. This is in the rotation for sure, & not just for New Years! - 12/30/10
