Mushroom-Barley-Pasta Soup - Corrected

Ingredients
2 tsp olive oil1 large onion3 cloves garlic1/2 lb sliced mushrooms2 cups no salt added canned tomatoes3/4 cup pearled barley1 tsp liquid smoke1 tsp salt1/2 tsp sage1/2 cup small pasta shells1/2 cup shredded parmesan
Directions
1. Combine oil, onion and garlic. Saute until onion is tender - roughly 7 minutes
2. Add mushrooms. Saute 3 minutes.
3. Add mushrooms, canned tomatoes, pearled barley, liquid smoke, salt, sage and 4 1/2 cups water (everything except pasta and parmesan). Simmer 25 minutes.
4. Add pasta. Simmer 10 minutes.
5. Serve with shredded parmesan.
