Italian Pasta Casserole

Ingredients
2 cups uncooked macaroni1/2 pound lean ground beef1/2 pound Italian turkey sausage links, casing removed1 small onion, finely chopped1 garlic clove, minced2 (14.5 oz) cans petite diced tomatoes, undrained1/3 c. tomato paste3/4 tsp. Italian seasoning1/2 t. chili powder1/8 t. salt1/8 t. garlic powder1/8 t. dried thyme1/8 t. pepper1 cup part skim mozzarella cheese
Directions
Cook pasta according to directions, drain and set aside.

While pasta cooks, crumble beef and sausage in a large skillet. Add onion and garlic and cook over medium heat until no longer pink, stirring occasionally. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, and seasonings. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 5 minutes.

Add pasta to meat mixture. Transfer half of mixture to a 2 quart casserole. Sprinkle 1/2 cheese over. Repeat layers.

Bake at 350* for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly.
