KFC Style Coleslaw

Ingredients
1 head medium cabbage -- finely chopped1 medium carrot -- shredded1/3 cup granulated sugar1/2 teaspoon salt1/8 tablespoon pepper1/4 cup milk1/2 cup mayonnaise1/4 cup buttermilk1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar2 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
Directions
Be sure the cabbage and carrots are chopped up into very fine pieces about the size of rice kernels. Combine the sugar, salt, pepper, milk, mayonnaise, buttermilk, vinegar and lemon juice and beat until smooth. Add the cabbage and carrots and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

I dont usually buy buttermilk since I dont use it often so here is a recipe for it.

Buttermilk Substitute:
1/4 cup milk
1/4 Tbsp white vinegar or lemon juice

Let stand for 5 minutes and its ready to use.

    I use 0.5 cup of buttermilk and leave out the milk. I found it to be creamier. Also you can buy powdered buttermilk and mix it up - 7/9/18
