Round Steak Stew, Comfort Food

Ingredients
8 oz of uncooked round beef steak2 cups of frozen stew veggies [potato, celery, carrot, onion. 1 packet of onion soup dry mix1 cup of frozen green beans.water as needed.1 can of 98% Fat free Cream of Mushroom soup.
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Preheat iron skillet.

Cut beef into thin strips or cubes. Brown in oilded iron skillet over medium heat. Does not need to be done through. Add the frozen stew veggies. Sprinkle all with the dry onion soup mix. Add 1/2 cup water. Stir.

Pour into 9 x 9 casserole that is lined with foiil. Pour beef stew into casserole. Top with green beans.
Top with the cream of mushroom soup.
Cover with foil. Cook in preheated oven for 40 to 50 " until done through.

    Too much sodium and the veggies turned into mush. Would probably be better with fresh carrots, potatoes. and onions. - 1/30/09

    I used my crockpot instead of oven. Substituted fresh vegetables and a no-sodium onion soup mix from the local bulk store.
