Healthy (er) chocolate chip cookies

Ingredients
2 cups white whole wheat flour1/4 cup wheat germ1 tsp. baking soda1/2 cup butter1/2 cup apple sauce2/3 cup white sugar2/3 cup light brown sugar1 tsp pure vanilla extract1 egg1 egg white8 oz dark chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 375
Stir together flour, wheat germ and baking soda in a medium bowl. set aside. Cream together butter, apple sauce and sugars until well blended. Beat in vanilla, egg, and egg white. Beat in flour mixture until it forms a soft dough. Stir in chocolate chips.

Drop by rounded teaspoons onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake 7-10 minutes.
