Combine sugar, milk, butter and cocoa. Bring to a full boil 1 1/2-2 mins. It is very important to time it!! Add salt & vanilla. Blend in peanut or almond butter and oats. Mix well. Drop by tsps onto wax paper. These should be firm in 5-10 mins. This Recipe makes about 30 small treats.
Add Whey Protein and you got one heck of a breakfast bar! (Though the peanut or almond butter is pretty protein.)

I made a version with 30 less calories per serving and only 2.3 grams of fat vs the 6.9 in this one. My only revisions were using Splenda instead of sugar, and reduced fat peanut butter. No difference in taste but you lose 1/2 the fat and 30 calories you can use to perhaps add some raisins. - 3/25/09
