Antiquity Rose Bran Muffins

4 cups 100% All Bran2 cups boiling water1 cup oil (or shortening, heaping)1 cup sugar1 cup brown sugar4 beaten eggs (or egg substitute)5 cups flour5 tsp. baking soda1 tsp. salt1 quart buttermilk
Mix 2 cups boiling water with 4 cups 100% All Bran Cereal. Mix and set aside.
In another bowl cream together: oil or shortening, sugars, and beaten eggs.
Mix together the flour, soda, and salt. Alternate adding flour mixture and buttermilk to the creamed mixture in a large bowl.
Add all bran mixture to above and stir.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes (or try 375 for 25 minutes)
Variations: Add dates, raisins, or nuts. Keep mixture in refrigerator and bake as needed. Keeps great. Wonderful way to have fresh baked muffins in the morning without all the fuss.
